Looking for a photo booth in Fort Lauderdale? The city has more photo booths than you think, yet fewer good ones than you would hope. Most of them, however, are open-air setups at a wedding you were not invited to. This list is only booths you can walk up to on a random Tuesday, pay a few dollars, and leave with a print.
I run one of them, so of course I am biased. So I will tell you which one is mine and let you judge the strips.

The short list
Here is what counts as a real photo booth for this list: it is enclosed or at least has a curtain, it prints on actual photo paper, and it is open to the public without booking anything. As a result, that knocks out the rental booths at events and the “print your Instagram” kiosks at the mall.
The one on campus: SmileMore at NSU
The SmileMore booth at Nova Southeastern University lives on the ground floor of the Don Taft University Center in Davie, ten minutes west of downtown Fort Lauderdale. In other words, it is a real enclosed booth with a teal curtain, wrapped in NSU Sharks blue. Every $7.99 session prints a pair of strips, one for you and one for whoever squeezed in with you. You do not need to be a student. You do, however, need to find visitor parking.
Yes, this is mine. Here is the honest version: the flash is bright, the bench fits four people who like each other, and the strips come out in about fifteen seconds. If you want the full details, hours, and directions, they are on the NSU booth page.
Photo booths at bars and restaurants
A few spots around Las Olas and Flagler Village have had booths come and go. Most were vinyl-wrapped rentals that stayed a season and then left. As of this writing I do not know of a permanent enclosed booth inside a Fort Lauderdale bar, which is partly why I started this company. If you know one, tell me and I will add it here with credit.
Want the booth at your own party?
The same enclosed booth, delivered anywhere in Broward, Miami-Dade or Palm Beach. Unlimited prints, attendant included.

How to tell a good booth from a bad one
Three things. Does it print on real photo paper or on a receipt printer? Receipt paper, for instance, fades in a month. Does the flash fill the whole booth or just your forehead? So look at the sample strips on the outside of the booth before you pay. And does it give you two strips? Because one always gets stolen by the person you took it with.
What a session should cost
It depends on the spot, and any booth that prints on real paper costs more to run than one that prints on receipt stock. At NSU a session is $7.99 for two dye-sub prints from a booth that gets cleaned every week. If a booth is much cheaper than that, therefore, look closely at the paper before you pay.
Where the next one is going
Meanwhile, two more spots are chosen, one down in Miami and one up in Palm Beach. Neither is announced yet, though. The Find a Booth page updates the day a booth goes live, and if you want an email instead of checking back, there is a signup at the bottom of every post.
